Aspiring professional young artists are being challenged to take part in an ambitious art project to design a sculpture made of recycled materials!

The Junk Art Challenge is looking for three young artists to create thought provoking sculpture designs that explore young people’s passion for sustainability including reducing plastic waste and improving recycling in Scotland.

Sculptures should be made entirely from recycled, upcycled or reclaimed plastics and other materials - nothing new! Materials must be provided by you, the artist. Sculptures can be no bigger than 3m x 3m due to health and safety requirements on site.

Young Scot will commission you with £1,000 to support you and say thank you. You will be required to be on site at GO LIVE! at the Green for the majority of the days from 2nd - 12th August 2018. Structures must be complete on site by 5pm on Friday 10th August.

The Junk Art Challenge is open to professional young artists in Scotland aged between 16-26. To apply for this challenge you must have skills and talents in art and design work.

If you are full of ideas and inspiration, apply now! You may wish to submit images, initial drawings or sketches, a paragraph explaining what you aim to do in your application form.

When: 2nd - 12th August 2018.

Where: GO LIVE! at the Green, Glasgow Green, Greendyke Street, Saltmarket, Glasgow G1 5DB.
