We have partnered with our clever friends at Bounts Limited; an online reward programme and motivational tool designed to reward individuals for achieving their active goals. We loved this idea so much we teamed up with Bounts Limited to Connect Your Tech with Young Scot Rewards.

I've connected and synced my tech but my points aren't updating.

Why?

• Have you achieved the minimum activity requirements?

The minimum activity requirement is to achieve at least 7,000 steps in a single day.

It will take at least 24 hours from the point of syncing for your Reward points to be updated on your Rewards account

You can only sync and receive points for ONE fitness wearable or active app per day.

Where do I connect the step tracking to Young Scot Rewards?

• Log in to your Young Scot Rewards account

• Click on ‘Activities’

• Connect Your Tech and follow the steps to register

• You will need your Young Scot Rewards password and your postcode (Ex. EH12 7HY) to register

• Sync your device or app. You will need your wearable or app user name and password to Connect Your Tech.

• Click the ‘sync’ button every time you have completed the minimum steps or activity

• Your Reward points will update up to 24 hours after you have clicked sync

Are you following all of the rules?

  1. Steps must be tracked automatically. We don't accept manually entered steps.

  2. You may have already reached the maximum number of points possible for daily steps – you can only receive your Reward points for 7,000 + steps and/or 20 minutes of activity ONCE per day

Fitbit FAQ’s

I've connected my Fitbit but my points aren't updating. Why?

Have you achieved the minimum activity requirements?

• The minimum activity requirement for Fitbit is to achieve at least 7,000 steps in a single day.

Are you syncing your Fitbit?

• You need to sync your Fitbit to the Fitbit app/web dashboard. When you do the activity is automatically sent to Young Scot Rewards.

Note: it can take up to 24 hours for your points to update.

Are you following all of the rules?

  1. Steps must be tracked automatically. We don't accept manually entered steps.

  2. You may have already reached the maximum number of points possible for daily steps - you can only receive your Reward points for 7,000 + steps and/or 20 minutes of activity ONCE per day

Why can't I use the Fitbit app to track my steps?

Unfortunately we're unable to consider steps that are tracked using the Fitbit app. We're not able to identify whether the steps have been manually entered or tracked automatically in the data that we receive from Fitbit. You'll need to use a Fitbit device and sync it to the Fitbit app to be rewarded for steps with Fitbit.

I'm receiving an error message when I try to connect my Fitbit. Why?

Do you already have a Bounts Limited account?

You can only connect one Fitbit account with your registered email address. We don't allow people to connect the same app/device to multiple accounts.

Are you entering the correct details?

Check with the Fitbit app/website that you are using your correct details.

Garmin FAQ’s

  1. Track a minimum of 7,000 steps or one 20 minute walk, run, ride or swim in a single day

  2. Sync your Garmin device to the Garmin app/web dashboard

  3. Log in to your Young Scot Rewards account, sync your activity

  4. Watch your points balance grow

I've connected my Garmin but my points aren't updating. Why?

Have you achieved the minimum activity requirements?

• The minimum activity requirement for Garmin is to achieve at least 7,000 steps in a single day or track one 20 minute walk, run, ride or swim above an average speed of 4km/h.

Are you syncing your Garmin?

• You need to sync your Garmin to the Garmin app/web dashboard. When you do the activity is automatically sent to Young Scot Rewards. Note: it can take up to 24 hours for your points to update.

Are you following all of the rules?

  1. Steps must be tracked automatically. We don't accept manually entered steps.

  2. Walks, runs, rides and swims must be tracked using GPS and be above an average speed of 4km/h.

  3. You may have already reached the maximum number of points possible for daily steps - you can only receive your Reward points for 7,000 + steps and/or 20 minutes

  4. Are you manually editing or pausing your activities? Unfortunately we don't reward activities that have been manually entered or edited.

I'm receiving an error message when I try to connect my Garmin. Why?

Do you already have a Bounts Limited account?

You can only connect one Garmin account with your registered email address. We don't allow people to connect the same app/device to multiple accounts.

Are you entering the correct details?

Check with the Garmin app/website that you are using your correct details.

Jawbone FAQ’s

I've connected my Jawbone but my points aren't updating. Why?

Have you achieved the minimum activity requirements?

• The minimum activity requirement for Jawbone is to achieve at least 7,000 steps in a single day.

Are you syncing your Jawbone?

• You need to sync your Jawbone to the Jawbone app/web dashboard. When you do the activity is automatically sent to Young Scot Rewards.

Note: it can take up to 24 hours for your points to update.

You can only connect one Jawbone account with your registered email address. We don't allow people to connect the same app/device to multiple accounts.

Check with the Jawbone app/website that you are using your correct details.

Misfit FAQ’s

I've connected my Misfit but my points aren't updating. Why?

Have you achieved the minimum activity requirements?

• The minimum activity requirement for Misfit is to achieve at least 500 Misfit points in a single day

Are you syncing your Misfit?

• You need to sync your Misfit to the Misfit app/web dashboard. When you do the activity is automatically sent to Young Scot Rewards.

Note: it can take up to 24 hours for your points to update.

Are you following all of the rules?

  1. Misfit points must be tracked automatically. We don't accept manually entered Misfit points.

  2. You may have already reached the maximum number of points possible for Misfit points - you can only receive your Reward points for a minimum of 500 Misfit points per day

I'm receiving an error message when I try to connect my Misfit. Why?

You can only connect one Misfit account with your registered email address. We don't allow people to connect the same app/device to multiple accounts.

Check with the Misfit app/website that you are using your correct details.

Moves App FAQ’s

I've connected my Moves App but my points aren't updating. Why?

Have you achieved the minimum activity requirements?

• The minimum activity requirement for Moves App is to achieve at least 7,000 steps in a single day.

Are you syncing your Moves app?

• You need to launch the Moves app at the end of the day for your daily step total to update. Once synced, it may take up to 24 hours for your points to update.

Are you following all of the rules?

  1. Steps must be tracked automatically. We don't accept manually entered steps.

  2. You may have already reached the maximum number of points possible for daily steps - you can only receive your Reward points for 7,000 + steps and/or 20 minutes of activity ONCE per day

Why do the steps recorded on Moves app reduce sometimes?

Moves app recalculates your steps achieved over the course of the day. If your steps total reduces, this is because the Moves app algorithm is calculating that they weren't actual steps.

I'm receiving an error message when I try to connect my Moves app. Why?

You can only connect one Moves App account with your registered email address. We don't allow people to connect the same app/device to multiple accounts.

Are you entering the correct details?

Check that you are entering the code you received correctly.

Runkeeper FAQ’s

I've connected my Runkeeper app but my points aren't updating. Why?

Have you achieved the minimum activity requirements?

• The minimum activity requirement for Runkeeper is to track one 20 minute walk, run or ride above an average speed of 4km/h.

Are you syncing your activity?

• Once you've completed your activity hit the save button. Once you've done this your activity will be sent to Young Scot Rewards.

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your points to update

Are you following all of the rules?

  1. Your activity must be tracked using GPS. No mobile signal = unsuccessful activity unfortunately.

  2. You may have already reached the maximum number of points possible for daily steps - you can only receive your Reward points for 20 minutes of activity ONCE per day

  3. Your activity must be tracked at least 1 hour apart.

  4. You can't use apps that we don't connect to, to send your activity to your Runkeeper app and then hope your Runkeeper app will send this data. Multiple connections don’t work unfortunately.

  5. If you happen to pause/edit your workout its status will be changed from 'verified' to 'unverified'. We don't award 'unverified' activities.

I'm receiving an error message when I try to connect my Runkeeper. Why?

You can only connect one Runkeeper account with your registered email address. We don't allow people to connect the same app/device to multiple accounts.

Are you entering the correct details?

Check with the Runkeeper app/website that you are using your correct details.

Strava FAQ’s

I've connected my Strava app but my points aren't updating. Why?

Have you achieved the minimum activity requirements?

• The minimum activity requirement for Strava is to track one 20 minute walk, run or ride above an average speed of 4km/h.

Are you syncing your activity?

• Once you've completed your activity hit the save button. Once you've done this your activity will be sent to Young Scot Rewards.

Note: it may take up to 24 hours for your points to update

Are you following all of the rules?

  1. Your activity must be tracked using GPS. No mobile signal = unsuccessful activity unfortunately.

SWIMTAG FAQ’s

I've connected my SWIMTAG account but my points aren't updating. Why?

Have you achieved the minimum activity requirements?

• The minimum activity requirement for SWIMTAG is to track one 20 minute swim between the pool sensors.

Are you syncing your activity?

• Once you've completed your swim return your wristband to the docking station and your activity will upload to the cloud and then be sent to Young Scot Rewards. Note: it may take up to 24 hours for your points to update.

Are you following all of the rules?

  1. Your activity must be tracked wearing your SWIMTAG wristband.

  2. You are required to move during your 20 minute swim. Stay still for longer than 90 seconds and the timer will start over.

  3. You may have already reached the maximum number of points possible for this type of activity

I'm receiving an error message when I try to connect my SWIMTAG account. Why?

Check with the SWIMTAG website/app that you are using the correct details.

Why isn’t my app or device listed?

If you’re new to Connect Your Tech you might be wondering why we don’t have your fitness app or device listed as an integrated app/device.

Our partners at Bounts Limited are always looking to work with third-party apps or devices to provide more choices for you. However, not all third-party apps have an ‘’open door’’ meaning that they can’t consider your activities when using those devices.

Bounts Limited are always knocking on the door to establish new integrations and they hope to add to the list of integrated apps/devices.

In the meantime, there are free mobile apps available to you if you have a smartphone. You can connect these to Young Scot Rewards if they're one of our integrated apps or devices.

We’ll let you know once we establish new connections in the future.

How long does it take for my Young Scot Reward points to appear?

When you manage your applications and sync your device it may take up to 24 hours for your points balance to update.

Who can use Connect Your Tech?

Any Young Scot card holder signed up to Young Scot Rewards can connect their tech and start earning daily Reward points for completing a minimum of 7,000 steps per day and/or a 20 minute burst of activity.

No Spam

We do not tolerate spam (unsolicited commercial communications).

Privacy

Data is stored and processed by our partner (Bounts Limited). Bounts Limited is a certified data controller registered with the UK Data Commissioner and certified under the UK Government Cyber Essentials Data Privacy Scheme.

By Connecting Your Tech you give consent to share the data with Bounts Limited for the purposes of tracking activity data only. You data will NOT be used for marketing purposes.

By Connecting Your Tech you give consent to the creation of a Bounts Limited account for the purposes of tracking data only. You will NOT receive any marketing emails from Bounts Limited and you will NOT be able to use it to connect to Bounts Limited Rewards.

If you are at all concerned, you can remove your Connect Your Tech account on Young Scot Rewards and any history of connected apps or activity data will also be removed. You can do this by sending an email to rewards@young.scot with the subject header ‘Remove my Connect Your Tech account
